And this is a photo of her and her sister, Meryl.
The other day, Joanna and I went to Friendship heights and got “Espresso Milkshakes” from Tynan.
Nothing better on a warm almost-spring day than that! We took them outside in the sunshine and sat on a ledge and Joanna began to tell me about a website her sister recently made, EveryoneHasADad.com.
Meryl started this webpage in loving memory of their amazing father, Charlie. In 2010 he was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma and since his passing, Meryl, Joanna, and their mother have been working tirelessly with The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to raise awareness and some cash-money to accomplish Meryl's mission – a mission to tell the world that just $1 is ONE more minute, ONE more hug, ONE more laugh together.
Recently, Meryl was nominated by The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to be woman of the year! (Go Meryl, wooo!) If there is one person who deserves this title, it is her (well, Joanna too!) After picking candidates for woman of the year, the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society chooses the one winner through a competition of who can raise the most money for the foundation.
And this is the part where I ask each of you to please visit the website and give even just a dollar, because just $1 is ONE more minute, ONE more hug, ONE more laugh together.
